Progress Report Very Good Long General Post On Spirit Attachment/Haunting

I am not 100% sure that my inner conversations with spirits in lower state are really objectively real. I certainly believe it is possible for a person to be haunted and talk to spirits they can't see, who are there all the time.

My "attaching spirits" came when I was in psychiatric hospital. I was in distress, afraid of another patient and I felt a watermelon sized orb 'jump' from that patient into my aura area. After that time I heard a voice of the same ethnicity as that patient who had been near me.

There are other signs, such as, I knew the full name of that patient, and the spirit has the same given name and family name (information I have picked up over the years of attaching).

In the first year I was as if in a dream and accepted the haunting soul as a friend... Bear in mind I had just had a breakdown. Then after that first year, he turned malicious for a reason unknown to me and began to bully me with harsh language.

That was nearly twelve years ago that I was in hospital and this began.

I believe, as many spiritual healers do, that it is possible for people to pick up these orb-souls who are themselves attached to the things of Earth life (in the case of my attachee, cannabis and sexual congress) and who may be afraid to go on (he had committed a crime) and who may or may not be someone with a history that has led them to choose to be psychologically violent (as my attaching ones are).

At present I have this long-standing spirit and one other of two years' attachment and a third that changes completely every few months, as well as transient 'visitors' who come to add criticism or harassment.

I read a long time ago that if these types of being come to you, there are probably three of them at once, and also they are able to come to you in moments of weakness like unconsciousness and after trauma (like for me, psychiatric breakdown).

I had in fact had the sensation of more distant, unidentifiable souls watching over my mind and pushing my thoughts around to hurt me in dark ways for some eight years previous to the intrusion at the hospital. This surveillance began after I recovered from psychotic breakdown in 1999 which was brought on by intensive cannabis smoking, starting after one month and progressing through a total of ten months of intensive use. Drugs, according to the spiritual community, of any kind, whether alcohol or cannabis up to the powerful hallucinogens, can weaken the aura's boundaries and make it permeable to spirit intrusion.

I write this to help others. I don't feel I am breaking any great taboo, because there are many who guide on this subject online, I only write from experience as well, adding what I have known.

I have quite a lot of insight on psychic conflict and dealing with abusive minds without much personal space or distance. It is a daily fight, but now I come to realise that if I fight to defend myself, whether in defending my sense of space inside or my sense of basic comfort, or my self-image, or what appears to be the truth or what is good - if I perform any of these apparently essential functions, I reinforce their reasons to attack and their illusions that lead them to aggression.

This may as well be arguing about the way the moon tastes with someone who thinks it is made of green cheese... I'd like to open up a little door here, and say that all of this is a simple extension of the belief in the persistence of life beyond death, which journey most souls make in a simple fashion, while others after dying seek to stay near Earth out of fear of the Life beyond or confusion as to what happened at death, or out of 'attachment' to Earthly things. Some may have had little spiritual belief or have been less conscientious in Life and so gravitate backwards after their reality suddenly expands at death.

Dying is one thing, it is said that after dying there is a grand spiritual experience, like an encounter with Grace in full. So no need to worry about that. But there is also choice over what happens then. Spirits (people liberated from mortal form) either go up to further evolution or cling to Earth. I believe in universal salvation, so all of Life keeps on moving and changing and growing and becoming brighter and warmer. Every soul finds its way Home. Not a home that exists on Earth somewhere down your street, but a world more perfect and beautiful and joyful that is eternal. Everything changes.

Do I need to write anything about Deity, that is all-powerful and great and good? I believe in a Deity, and would like to know that One better. It is said God's nature is bliss that could be described as like a million pleasures at once, and that God is Love so great that He gave HIs son Jesus to us on Earth knowing that soul was so great he would be killed for that greatness.

What is God's will in haunting, which can seem so confusing? I have to believe that universally, God fully prefers mortal people to be undisturbed by Earthbound spirits. There are complexities of metaphysical explanations as to what is going on, but I think we are guided to health and happiness in Life when there are such conditions. We are not left abandoned to the situation.

Why can I hear intelligent-sounding voices in my brain that have no obvious immediate  physical origin? Astounding. It is called being psychic, in these times. In other words, it is a human faculty to hear the voices of gods and ghosts - we can know Spirit. (Some traditions call Deity "Spirit"). Extra-sensory perception is actually spiritual perception, knowing of a spiritual reality beyond that dense world of the five senses.

In this way, haunting shows us our sensitivity as we are aware of a world beyond that otherwise known.

I have written enough here for now. Thank you for reading, and be safe!

What Do You Do When Your Natural Psychic Defences Are Compromised?

I have been reading about a battle that has been going on for ages on Earth between light and dark. There are spiritual beings that act to harm humans incarnate on Earth. I now call those spiritual beings "lower astral entities".

I have been given a lifetime where I am coming into awareness as sharing the space I am in with some of these lower astral entities. Sometimes they present just as human consciousness entities - and sometimes they present as malevolent human consciousness entities bringing significant life resistance.

People are supposed to have natural spiritual protection in the form of the "aura", which is a kind of soul organ surrounding the body in a large egg-shape with different layers and functions. Sometimes the strong outer membrane of the aura becomes compromised, and a person may then be subject to disturbance by lower entities or energies.

There are a few books out there on psychic protection, and many webpages given to psychic protection and keeping safe regarding what belongs to the spirit reality - but, the big question is, what are you supposed to do when your psychic protection is compromised, you are open, and you have spiritual intrusion?

I think it comes down to a few things. For me, this is a "work in progress", I have not recovered my health yet.
You can try shamanic healing for "extraction" work to remove intrusive entities as an intervention.
You can try aura work from spiritual healers to repair the aura.
You can get spiritual development (for example at a spiritualist church) to learn how to close down your psychic perception and not be open all the time.
You can stay "grounded" in the Earth energy, and in your body awareness.
You can practice spiritual hygiene by staying away from hospitals, cemeteries, mortuaries and churches, and keep away from recreational or psychedelic drugs (as drugs can harm the aura and open you).
You can look at healing your conscious and subconscious self and keeping your emotions and awareness bright and happy, and love your way into evolving through shadow places in your life experience.
You can take care what you think about, so that you increase that which you love and not that which  makes you unhappy (according to metaphysical laws). Focus on bringing good into your Life, avoid worrying about health.
You can not waste your energy by loving intruding entities or counselling them in what is good - if it doesn't help in the beginning, stop.
You can take care not to befriend entities occupying space in your conscious awareness, even if you feel like they deserve to be treated with respect (they may be changeable in temperament, like mine, but do not trust them to be your friends).
You can go through exorcism through traditional religious routes (but those faith leaders may have less esoteric knowledge of what is troubling you spiritually and how to overcome it).

If you see a faith healer/spiritual healer, exercise caution in who you choose.
Some may be lying about what they can do for money or power or respect.
Some may believe they can help when they are deluded.
Some may say they can help when they can't because they don't have the knowledge or practical experience.
Some will know how to help and will do so.

Beware of people who say they are healers but say they have no psychic awareness.
Beware of paying a lot of money for a healing or courses of healing.
Beware of what seems like a "magic fix" and instant miracle cure.
I would also say that remote entity release is something to beware of.

Also, last year I saw a healer who was set up to work as a professional shamanic practitioner offering to perform spirit release, and I came away with an extra spirit consciousness entity attaching with me! It  must have been that she was more of a beginner on her path, and unaware that she herself had entities near her, perhaps a few.

Anyway, enough scary ideas, but there are many writers out there on the internet talking about spiritual intrusion and spirit release. This would be a spiritual health issue. This issue has also gained attention of psychologists (eg Dr. William Baldwin), who have used hypnosis to communicate with attaching entities and then release them to the Light. I also saw a Youtube video which featured the testimony of an anonymous American hospital psychiatrist who was scientifically convinced that he had patients having objectively real communication with unseen consciousness entities.
Of course, you can do your own research on this. I am open to questions in the comments section of this blog, which I can answer according to my personal life experience knowledge.

Good luck! And all blessings to you on your path of spiritual health, peace, Light and happiness.

Low Level Spirits

Excuse me, I'm in a writing mood. I saw in my blog stats that someone had come to the blog wishing to know more about low level spirits, so I thought I'd sum up my experience of them.

Some of them are as nasty as can be. Maximally violent, and serious in their desire to cause harm. Again there may be those who are as hostile as can be who are acting to gratify themselves, taking pleasure in harm. Others act out of a strange and unfeeling sense of humorous mischief - they make fun from causing irritation and injury, not feeling how harmful they are being. Others still may act as if through a sense of grudge or prejudice.

My opinion is that, once we die there is only one way for us to go, and that is into a sense of unity with all of Life, with God. The opposite of that awareness is egotism, with all that means, all its self-serving desire and intent.  These spirits are like outlaws, and I know well how strange their thinking can be and how cruel they can be, all the way to being 'evil'.

They avoid unity consciousness, and so act to please themselves. They are low in empathy, or have no empathy, and no remorse. They are hard to understand.

But the fact is, there are people like this on Earth, too. They are the vandals and thugs, the people that society and civilisation are most afraid of and lock up in prisons. Maybe the ones I encounter, and that you, reader may be encountering, are such ones who pass through life being unkind and unloved and die unhappy, hating (avoiding) God through a sense of discontent, and inflicting injuries on those apparently not like them (the loving people on Earth).

Although they seem hard to understand, still I believe that there has to be a reason for the way they behave. It must be that they can be healed, though perhaps healed only by God, some of them. Perhaps we can help them evolve by giving them healing love at the 'weak' point in their psychology, their sense of discontent or feeling that life is unfair. Sometimes we feel that life is unfair and close out hearts to love - perhaps that is why they turn their back on God and Heaven.

I believe that God loves all souls (just as we are all Divinely related to God), so I wish to bless all souls as well. There are no monsters to God. Maybe the will to bless and love - our kindness - is the biggest difference between us and the so-called low level spirits. Here's the hope, though: that Life is change, everything is in a state of flux, and that all beings are continually evolving - must evolve, and consequently are finding their way back to the Light.

PS How do I know about low level spirits? Through them focusing on me. Through eleven years of frequent and daily interaction with them. I feel their power of will influencing my thoughts to force them into painful or malicious channels, and I hear their abusive or rude language.
This all began following a complex situation of cannabis use, psychic opening, depression - and a classic drug induced psychosis.
I also know friendly spirits who visit me daily to help me, and neutral / peaceful 'Earthbound' spirits (ghosts) who stay around me.
I have become strong and have educated myself in spirituality, but am still gaining the strength to re-establish the experience of harmony in my daily life.

Healing Review

I said that I would post a report of the healing session I last went for. Here it is.

The lady I saw was a psychic healer and medium. There was an introductory talk, and then I lay on a treatment bed. She put her hands on my shoulders, head and knees and stomach for about half an hour.

At the end she said that anything troubling me now would be 'residue' of former spirit presence. She said that three spirits had been 'escorted' away. One was stubborn, claiming to be the strong one, and she challenged him to go and he left. One was female, she said.

Here's what was happening for me: as she was talking afterwards, I sensed one of the two other spirits come and stand behind me, and he seemed to be a little afraid. I didn't want to say anything to the healer.

Walking back to get transport to go home, I felt stronger, but still not normal, mentally, not totally at peace or feeling secure.

Arriving home, one hour later, the third spirit, the female, came and said "Thank you."

What is the result of all this? The healer was experienced and I got on well with her, she had integrity and a kind nature. She cleared one soul who had been very hostile to me. The two others have come back and are with me again. This is still a good outcome, because the hostile one was really bothering me. He was seemingly hurting me for his own amusement, and very frequently. Still, I don't hold that against him, trusting that he has gone somewhere where he will be helped, and I leave it at that, no debts of karma for him to repay me.

So why did the other two come back? As I understand it, we always have free will, and that of course includes those who have died and are in spirit. Simply, these two spirits are happier with me and are not yet ready to ascend and go to God and Heaven. They must have broken away from their escorts before fully 'crossing over'.

Other spirits whose voices are familiar to me from before are around me - homeless souls who drift around, and some of them are filling the role of the persecutor, acting like "outlaws", ignoring all emotional responsibility, causing trouble and hurting me.

The lady also said that she spoke to my dad and told him not to feel guilty but to go on and get on with his evolution up in Heaven. This hasn't helped him interfering with my will to be creative: he disapproves of me playing the keyboard, which REALLY upsets me; he obstructed me again some days after seeing the healer - I asked him why and he said he didn't want me to waste my time.
The healer had said that he was still acting in the role of a father, protecting and helping, when he ought to be moving on from that behaviour to evolve. Wish he would! He's obviously still happy with that role. I'm mostly okay with it too, - he's my dad, but sometimes he's a clumsy guide and hurts me.

So would I recommend that anyone see an experienced psychic healer and medium? Absolutely. I am very glad that she successfully moved on one spirit. That's great, a real miracle, which has lifted my faith in healing. The spirit who left was a young man who was expressing unhappiness by causing unhappiness.
But I am also disapppointed that two spirits have come back, - although it would be worse if they were badly behaved, which they tend not to be. One (an elderly lady) is very moral; the other, who I am guessing is from the Punjab in Pakistan, since he can understand the language from that region that I have being sung on a CD (I did some detective work), is less moral but largely well behaved, and calls me his best friend. Obviously that's where the attachment comes from, he prefers my company to God's, seeing me as his closest friend. I respond to that call for closeness with benign reasoning, always encouraging them to move on. Let's not forget what was written in a previous post, that these people can evolve at any time, - they can go on to Heaven independently, if they choose - healers only provide encouragement and help.

Well, that's all folks. I would still like help from a psychic healer, but some good work has been done. I hope reading this helped you.

I'm Lucky, Because...

I realise that I am lucky with the haunting I have, because they do not cause me any problems of addiction. I have read that if you are someone who has ghosts around you, then they can pass on parts of their thinking or behaviour to you, for example causing you depression or alcoholism or any kind of compulsions. I don't get that, and in that respect I consider myself lucky. If you read this blog, you will know by now that the real problems I have with haunting are to do with what is known as verbal abuse or psychological abuse from spirits. I suppose in the old days they would have called such abuse the attacks of the devil.

In the last week I have obtained a Christian crucifix with the medal of Saint Benedict behind Jesus' head (which medal is traditionally used for exorcism and spiritual well-being).

I have also begun annointing myself with water (local spring water, which I don't feel particularly the need to bless by prayer or ritual - my intention is strong enough; but you can bless water by leaving it in the sun for some hours or by making the sign of the cross or other powerful symbol over it). I do this having researched holy water a little, learning that holy water is used to remind Christians of Baptism, which purifies and washes away evil and blesses and gives Life. That's a powerful thing for me, and it's important in realigning myself and dedicating myself to the Power of Powers. That's a kind of thing you might read about in a psychic protection handbook.

I have also made an appointment to see a lady in London with experience of psychic healing, who treats psychic attack and heals the aura, who is a psychic medium. I have faith in her. That's at the end of the month, so we'll see what happens. They say that healing is internal, not external, of the soul, and occurs (I suppose) in God's good time - healing happens when it is right to happen. The lady has trained with the Spirit Release Foundation and Sue Allen, so I am 100% sure she is genuine, and not a fraud, as some people out there are who offer esoteric help.

I have also come to understand, from thinking about one spirit around me, that when people act in ways that don't make sense to cause harm, it is because they are unhappy at the soul level, principally the crown chakra or top two chakras (third eye chakra as well). The crown chakra is to do with the connection a being has with the universe, and perhaps feelings of self-worth in relation to Divinity. This is kind of an insight, kind of an intuition, but it rings true with me. Also note that spirits have souls, just as we in dense form have souls. I know that in Heaven we are close to God again, and also united with our Higher Self, but I suppose that soul awareness is something bigger that Heavenly souls learn to access, just as we can on Earth. As I understand it, God makes us by putting all the Light he/she can into our bodies (!), but there is still some left over - a lot in fact, and that is the soul. That's how I see it, and I say that's a reliable way of seeing it, too. In my culture we might refer to people as souls ("lost souls", "poor souls", "save our souls" (S.O.S.)), but the soul, according to my beliefs, is something in us and something more than us, at once like God in nature, but also less than God in nature. This perspective could well be reassuring to spirits, to understand that there is more and that they can evolve.
But, going back to our spirit who is badly-behaved without being able to explain why, it is because they are having some funny thoughts about Life and Who They Are in relation to All That Is. So we can pray for them to become aware and knowing and trusting of Life.

02 June 2011 Notes

No complaints. I don't hear complaints from the spirits around me stuck on Earth. Some of them are vituperative, rude. Some are fairly friendly.

If you could listen to my thoughts, you would know that I sometimes complain, and that I wonder what can make up for ten years of mental hardship being psychologically abused from within my mind space.

Some years ago I went to a doctor and asked for pain medicine to ease my mental suffering. "What do you mean, mental pain? Do you mean emotional pain?" He wasn't sure what I meant, and I wish I'd told him that the pain I feel is the same pain that we humans feel when someone insults us or uses rude language towards us. That would have made things clearer.

Mediumistic psychic attack at the conscious level, which must be extremely rare, parallels psychological abuse of all kinds, whether between married people or as a form of interrogation and torture. I have insight into that mental control that can take place as one tries to dominate another, noticing that it might work by "second-guessing" another, for example, or in some way preventing them from being 'assertive' and mentally strong to the extent that they cannot express themselves in ordinary sentences of speech without being contradicted. I go through some pretty major insults and trickery and 'obfuscation', as if they are toying with me (playful malice), but I am lucky in that they do not attempt to take away my power to be assertive. It is more a case of discrediting and insulting me, which is a kind of psychic violence.

Why do words hurt?

Why can words of insult or coarseness cause injury and irritation?

A secondary symptom is that I hear so much that I get comments from Earthbound spirits around me to the effect that I get a sore mind from being exposed to a sense of humour (jokes) that are far from what I feel is good. We are chalk and cheese. Why is it there are so many of these spirits? they all have the same rude sense of humour!, be it sexist, racist, or otherwise plainly excessively mischievous.

The Christian tradition calls such spirits, Earthbound ones, "Spiritus immundus" (singular), impure spirits. They certainly are that in their humour! And that humour 'perfectly' blends into hostile and abusive psychic energy.

I once went to an abbey, and heard a priestly voice say, with pity, "you are unclean". He meant that I am spiritually defiled (and I suppose also contagious) through being subject to mental intercourse with spirits of impure emotionality and intent. Strange to hear that from a spirit. (The definition of unclean I just gave was from a dictionary).

The troublesome spirits cause confusion, whether by actually interfering with my body language in public situations making me seem untrustworthy (! - true, such is their influence over my psyche), and also misleading others, higher or earthbound, spirits about my thoughts. Now I ring an imaginary bell to indicate that I am under attack, and it actually helps clarify for those spirits around me what is going on. (This must be hard to understand! But these are the facts of my everyday life). When the troublesome spirits mess with my thoughts to make them unpleasant and rude, it often is not just an injury to me but it looks for an instant like they are exactly my thoughts. So now I ring the bell (like lepers used to do to signify they were 'unclean' and contagious). The bell helps to signify that there is spiritual danger to anyone in spirit who notices.

OK, that was too hard to understand and believe, I'm sure. But I feel my normal self writing this.

There must be so many unhappy spirits either stuck on Earth or spirits of ill will close by Earth that cause humanity pollution. There must be so many of them. I wonder what God is doing about them. I wonder what God thinks about them - or rather, how he would describe them to me - he/she wouldn't say they are psychopathic, dysfunctional, because those words are dysfunctional. But still, the spirits in question must do a lot of harm, they do evil; however, essentially, they are not evil beings, because they exist, they are creatures of God.

Shortly after coming out of psychiatric hospital a few years ago, I heard a spiritual voice say "We're glad you're not mad anymore." It was just once that I heard that voice. It is very touching to have heard those words. I know it was an earthbound spirit - I can tell earthbound spirit from mortal telepathic, and good-natured spirits from badly-mannered and evil-behaved ones; I know the difference between a celestial voice and an Earthbound voice, just from having heard them once.

I have to ask myself, why don't I do something about this, and go on a massive campaign to track down someone in the world who is more psychic, more knowing and more healthy than I am who can put things right for me. Why not? Answer: a lack of mindfulness; and busy-ness; and loss of faith; and beliefs of scarcity of people with such skills; and maybe I'm not ready to be healed yet, who knows. So I have to forgive myself. It's something I consciously wish to do later, soon, but not now. For instance I'm busy now, about to move house (hopefully). but maybe I should start some distance healing with the person I have in mind. I think I'll do that actually! Contact them and ask them to see what they can do from afar (I am quite a long way from where they are, it involves a special trip).

A happy moment. We'll see what happens. I guess I'll feel happier for doing something about this, this unbelievable situation of fully conscious psychic attack by negative-thinking 'demoniac' spirits and overcrowding by ghosts.

Waking Up In The World: Spiritual Beginnings

I have read in various places that steps taken to safeguard our well-being through spiritual techniques are the equivalent of wearing clothes to protect ourselves from the elements.

Once you are aware of the World of Spirit, you find yourself reborn again, and naked again as a newborn baby - and should put on your 'clothes' for your own good.

This is all as simple as imagining bright light around you, which has a natural shielding capability. Less energetic 'pollution' for your organism, less affected by others' harmful emotions, less spiritual danger.

In the last few days, I have been reading "Working With Earth Energies" by David Furlong. This seems to be a good book, based on the authority of thirty years' experience with the World of Spirit as someone with gifted awareness. I bought this book for its promise of relating to the Earth, and feeling connected within its energies; however, Mr Furlong provides methods for grounding ("Earth attunement", he calls it), and for shielding, - and he also describes a method for allowing Earthbound spirits to transition to the Light, to go Home to 'Heaven'. This is a book I recommend. I can't write his techniques here, because I don't wish to infringe copyright. He was one person who says that spiritual self-care (maintenace of the aura) is like wearing clothes; another person to have written that same idea is Derek Acorah.

Spirit Attachment And Spirit Release: What Can Be Done?

I read about earthbound spirits on a website, where it was saying you don't necessarily need to go to someone to help you with the attachment. The article (read it here, and scroll down to the section entitled "Earthbound Spirits") seems to suggest that the spirits can be talked to and encouraged to cross over by you yourself, you don't need to go to a medium to do the same thing for you, usually - unless the spirits are unusually disturbed. The author uses the words 'unstable' and 'distraught' to describe some spirits who may need a degree of counselling before they move on to the Light. In other words, if, like me, your resident ghosts are reasonable and calm, you can try encouraging them verbally (and emotionally) to cross over to the next world. It seems that the principle barrier for earthbound souls between them and their deserved heaven is their emotions - first emotional release, then spirit release. The author says that most people make it over to the world of spirit on their own without a problem.

I spent hours last night looking for information on spirit release. Exactly how is it done?, I was wondering, and what can I do to help these souls, I asked myself impatiently, for want of help from others?

There are books by psychologists on techniques of spirit release involving hypnotherapy, which seem to extend to putting someone in a trance and giving the spirit-person in question the chance to voice their concerns and be counselled, so that they can loosen their attachments to Earth and move on.

There are books by mediums about spirit release, but with little information as to how you or I at home can do it for ourselves, - at least that's what the book reviews by ordinary people seemed to be saying.

I was angry and a little in despair at this. What do you do?

But there is information online, to this effect:
  • Send them love
  • Tell them to go to the light
The love strengthens and heals them, the direction to go to the Light is an encouragement and what they need to know and do.

You can see a medium, who works with people in spirit to help the earthbound people in spirit to get Home to where the Light is and where their family and friends are. I read on one site a medium saying you have to do this with a medium, it is not possible alone, but I don't exactly follow this, I prefer what the other person says as discussed above (the author of the article quoted at the top of this post is a professional psychic medium as well), which is that we ordinary people, without easy contact with guides and angels to help us can move the spirits on through our encouragement and forgiveness and love.

Essentially the earthbound spirit, through your help or through the help of a professional,
  • gains the confidence to move on
  • changes in what they feel, from a majority of fear-based emotion to a majority of love-based emotion, and peace, they become positive in outlook; it is an opening of the heart that the earthbound spirit-people will undergo
  • releases attachment to Earth and its people, things and animals and opportunities for satisfaction, under the assurance that all good is in the Light, and that when they move on and cross over they will be whole and happy and provided for in every way (as if in a more perfect world, Heaven).
Lastly, you yourself will be no less whole when they are gone. It is probably best not 'converse' with them in an ordinary way, but to reduce communication and help them as described above (Send them love, direct them to go to the Light).

Don't forget, if you live in the UK (or the US?), you can always go to your local spiritualist church for advice on releasing spirits stuck near you - and that won't cost you any money.

Also, spirit release for some professionals who practice it and write about it, is a solemn process, because of the great importance and meaning of the release. It really is a great good deed, beyond words.

I have just been looking at the Spirit Release Foundation website. They run training for people to become spirit release practitioners (click this link to go to their training information webpage). This is something I feel very interested in, as a good thing to be done for the world - and probably useful for my own well-being too; however I wouldn't wish to go to a course meeting until I am fully free of 'attachments', since I would have trouble concentrating, and it could be quite embarrassing if someone detects earthbound spirit presence around me!

                                                                __________________

Just read through an article on the SRF website (linked here), written from quite a scientific perspective (probably interesting to my scientific readership), called "Spirit Attachment and Human Health", and this article shares information on spirit release techniques (which is ironic, since I've just complained about a lack of specific information on it on the web!) The article reminds me - you can also pray for relatives of the spirits stuck near you, (and their angels and guides) to come from the Light and guide their dear one Home. - I read that elsewhere as a techinique you or I can do.
It has also occurred to me that prayer repeated at certain times every day (or at least with some regular frequency) will be enormously helpful in bringing a solution to become manifested.

I have prayed a few times for the spirit-people remaining near me, as follows:

God,
Please help these spirits to be Heavenly, so that they may experience Heaven wherever they are, until they are fully reunited with You in awareness.
Thank you, Amen.

The prayer for them to be Heavenly is a reference to their emotions, that they may feel all goodness in order to be  near God, wherever they are, and to bring them nearer to God at the same time so they can go Home more easily.

Good luck in your desire to be free and happy.
You can do something about it.

PS During this post, the earthbound spirit-person near me named Mohammad has been praising me ( - "Well done," he said, on two occasions, as I researched spirit release).

Spirit Attachment

So, I must have spirit attachments. that's what it means when you have earthbound spirits with you who go with you wherever you go and who 'live' (/squat) in your home with you.

We have:
  • Mohammad; aged 37ish? on 'death', of Pakistani origin, I think, since he sounds just like someone I met in psychiatric hospital who was from Pakistan originally -presumably M chose to jump ship and come with me at the time, for his own reasons.
  • Marjory; I think her name is Marjory - why not? That is the name I got when I mentally asked for it. She is quite elderly, usually a little stressed.
  • [Young man, name unknown]; can be ornery (moody, rude).
The two Ms can more or less put words in my mouth, so I know what they are saying, kind of like a result of unskilled channelling. Mohammad's favourite words are "Result!" and "Jesus"... (used as interjections).

- Imagination? Or a spirit reality?

It's been two years like this. For some reason my awareness of them clarified at some stage. and I began to realise I had spirits ('ghosts') around me.

I don't know their stories, they don't tell me. I know Mohammad does not wish to be here 'forever'. He often used to say, emphatically, "We're real", just on it's own like that; maybe he is a siprit hero for raising my awareness.

They are highly conscious, the same as you or I - these are not spirit fragments or energetic imprints in a place.

In their point of view, they may be looking for somewhere energetically 'warm' to be near (ie me, an energetically more active person through being spiritually aware); for my point of view, these are not terribly disturbed souls causing havoc, but they are an intrusion at times... Sometimes we are both unwelcome to each other, by fact - they do not wish to be here (I presume), and I prefer to have privacy, like any one else.

I tell them, I am sensitive, not an exorcist, I don't know how to move them on to the Light. However, I read that as their attachment to the Earth and it's world of things and people fades, then if they turn their attention to God, they will find that the 'Light', the eternal presence of God, grows clearer, brighter, stronger and warmer, leading to their successful transcendence. But I'm not an exorcist, they are still here.

Spirits from the Heavens / angels haven't lead them Home yet, either.

Their attachment can be 'positive', in that they love Earthly things enough not to prefer to move on, or 'negative', in that they are afraid to move on, or it can be just that they don't know how to move on. Surely for someone helping a spirit, the merit must be very high. I mean, it's an extremely good deed.

I have seen one professional exorcist (who may or may not have been the real deal), one crystal healer, and two shamanic healers, all of whom have not been able to detect attached spirits. This is through their own inability, I believe; I think someone more in the spiritualist line of capability may be able to help me, someone clairvoyant and clairaudient enough to detect their presence - of which there are many such people.
I know this does not really stand in my favour as a testimony to the fact of spirit attachment, that they went undetected. the crystal healer for example only saw certain things in trance; one of the shamanic healers only told me in an overarching sort of way that I am strong enough to get my health/normality back.
However, I wouldn't be surprised if the spirits 'hide' from healers, through fear or unreadiness to move on.

I am at fault for not finding more help, but that's life - I mean, I have my own life to contend with, a hundred different things that need attending to, and the dripping tap of ghost presence, surprisingly, amidst serious serious psychic attack, depression, fatigue and daily requirements, gets a bit lost. You keep having to remember and remind yourself of what needs doing. "Terrible, you may think, he's living with ghosts, and not helping them" - well yes, I am, you get used to it, and in the overall scheme, a little more time earthbound doesn't seem to hurt anyone too much within that context, frankly.
I tell them "Very soon", they will be home. Next week I am seeing a healer, who may be able to help. I will keep looking as and when I can find someone and organise it.

I think the best piece of advice to give myself or someone in my position is to find a spiritualist church. I've tried this, so, addendum - find a spiritualist church that will help you. [Again, I had the "you're strong enough to rule your world and send anything away you don't want affecting you" line from the people I saw, when help would have been preferable.]

Three kinds of spiritual awareness, to reiterate:
  1. Earthbound spirits around me 24/7 who I hear circumstantially and communicate with
  2. Visiting friendly spirits from Heaven (Eg family), coming frequently every day, who I hear and communicate with
  3. Sensing of spirits partially visiting, 'from above' causing mental disturbance (painful thought interference).

Apparently with spirit attachment, there's a danger of blending of personalities, so you become like them; there's a danger of addiction, so you/they don't want to let go. I can identify. When all this is over.. I don't know what it will be like to have peace and quiet, and privacy.

I'm getting angry again, writing this post! I have to remember the Light, which is all goodness, that we come from, and remember my mantra of compassion for these souls:

All souls go Home.

- I believe all souls find their way back to the Light, whether as a place, or as a condition of the heart (of the emotions, of morality). Hope.

Diagnosis: discerning

The idea of this blog is to argue for a spiritual perspective to be included in 'Western mainstream medical psychiatry' (the hospital doctors of "First World countries", eg the USA and UK) along with the material perspective. But this won't help everybody - I believe there will always be a need for medication as well as for spiritual healing. Some people have real paranormal experiences called psychosis, and some have actual psychotic experiences - and there are also a portion who have a combination of the two varieties of experience. I admit to much psychotic experience. I only recently had a breakdown that brought on full hallucinations and delusions, reminding me that I am susceptible to psychosis (I had stopped taking my medicine suddenly). I have had two breakdowns - or rather, technically, one breakdown and one relapse. The original breakdown left me with delusions which lasted some years (not including beliefs in the phenomena that I here claim are real); after the relapse, I quickly recovered my regular state of health with the reapplication of medicinal treatment.

(Paranormal beliefs: wouldn't it help if there was someone to say, "OK, you may be susceptible to some incorrect beliefs - that's OK, it's a complicated world and we're not all Einsteins - let me help you." Wouldn't it be great if there was someone who could look at a person's thinking and help them discern between truth and impossiblity in difficult areas? I know that's Cognitive Behavioural Therapy territory, but I myself haven't had anything like this).

How do you discern between someone having a potentially 'paranormal' spiritual experience and someone who is in need of close medical attention? Perhaps the paranormalists are able to function well, they are articulate and are not responsive to medication. I believe that a person' s testimony should be considered. If they say they are being affected by something paranormal, at least consider it, test the possibilities.

Fortunately nowadays doors are being opened, and spirit release therapy is being undertaken by some pscyhiatrists who put their patients under hypnosis. (It is a norm in the section of society that claims to interact with the spiritual for there to be beliefs like this: that, given the existence of the soul and an 'Afterlife' existence, some people after death do not move on to their proper place, through fear or addiction or grief for example and these individuals can become 'bonded'/attached to others who are still incarnate, adversely affecting their minds, emotions and behaviours). Spirit release seeks to help both incarnate and 'discarnate' people. Here, then, is exorcism, or Old World thinking entering into New, scientific World thinking. You can get rid of superstition, but you can't get rid of the supernatural! So maybe all that tradition of believing schizophrenia to be 'demonic' possession was partly absolutely correct.
If you are a training doctor, why not make contact with someone in the spiritual healing profession and interview them? This could give you valuable insights.

I wonder what doctors who have fairly regular religious beliefs think when they encounter someone who fervently reports a fairly regular instance of spiritual 'disturbance'? Since a belief in God and Heaven and the soul easily allow for the logic of the existence of souls who do not wish to ascend (to meet what they believe is a God of wrathful judgement) and so remain close to the Earth where they affect sensitive individuals. What do doctors of spiritualist faith think when they encounter people who claim to be bothered or possessed by spirits?

But how do I know that what I experience is a real interchange with other real beings external to me, and not a clever and perfectly convincing hallucination, a chemical malfunction of the brain's imaginative faculty?

I believe in God, I have encountered God.
I believe in departed saints, I have encountered departed saints.
I believe there are people in another dimension of Being commonly known as Heaven, I encounter these beings daily.
I believe it is possible for people who are commonly known as ghosts to avoid God and Heaven, I encounter these beings daily.

The experiences are not just negative, they are benign as well - I frequently encounter my departed family and friends, they are with me on and off every day throughout the day, I suppose to help me and lift my energyduring this difficult phase of my Life. (I am glad of my firm belief in the afterlife, tanks to my experience; I have great friends who can be with me in any place and at any time!). The night before my father died, three and a half years ago, I was sitting writing down my thoughts of him and I spiritually heard his voice, he said "I will be by your side every day." Later that summer I was tending the barbecue and I felt a subtle movement above my head, full of power, spelling out the words "Hello, young man"; it was my father; I sensed hm behind me (I'm good at sensing him!); he was full of great strength and gravity - his celestial nature (the way we are supposed to be). There was an incident at a spiritualist church of confirmation too that he knew my thoughts, and he comically responded, passing a message through a friend there! [(Also, at the church one of their clairvoyants assured me that I was healing myself, as I had the White Light of God's Being around me)].
One time a famous departed Indian saint who I think of sometimes visited me and said he would 'ward off evil'... Because what disturbs me is evil sometimes, when it is not simply malicious.

What is it that makes me struggle to believe my own beliefs?!! Being told I am insane, I suppose. It's not a nice feeling and position.

Right now I'm thinking of regular ol' Christianity - in which there is abundant belief in the occasional requirement for exorcism - but I'm [conveniently??!] not brave enough to get the local priest to go to the local bishop and get my entire family reviewed etc etc before I can get a powerful exorcism done. I don't think I truly require an exorcism anyway, as I'm not possessed; I identify my concern as 'demonic infestation' (which I suppose to be much more common than possession). And don't forget (see earlier post) 'demon' does not necessarily mean pointed tail and horns, or horror film nasty, but merely a person between Earth and Heaven with major emotional issues bent on malice and eventually being what we call evil.

So I have frequent spiritual interactions: many are benign; some of them impinge on my privacy; and others are out and out undesirable. And all convincing. The ghosts around me (who I can communciate with, but who so far refuse to leave) repeat to me (sometimes) "We're real"; and when there are aggressive disturbances to my thinking by what I take to be more distant spirits, I feel a malicious personality on the other end.

I haven't found the right spiritual healer yet. I've had varying degrees of success with them - and some 'miraculous' (ordinary spiritual) changes have occurred. But at the end of the day, I'm the king of my castle, and if I have mislaid my personal power, it's up to me to find it again.

The Catholic church conducts house blessings where they will go to a house and spiritually bless it. A Catholic group called the St. Padre Pio Centre For Deliverance Counselling offer a format for house blessing that anyone can do, here: http://www.saintpiocenter.org/materials/houseblessing.pdf. This seems to be a good ritual, with good prayers and the feature of blessing rooms with holy salt, holy water and holy medals, which may bring you a sense of comfort and wholeness/safety. Although not completely official (not officially approved of - nor condemned) and quite long, this should still be a useful resource for those who wish for some self-defense in the Christian tradition. You will need some medals of Saint Benedict, who is the Catholic patron saint of spiritual safety. Some of the wording of the ritual could be considered fear-based, going into protection against a long list of different expressions of malevolence -such as hexes, but I think this still has relevance as a defense against all kinds of ill will, and it may be relevant to you if you are experiencing disturbance. For years I wondered if I had been cursed, I thought I had angered someone terribily; I went through my memories of my past deeds wishing to 'repent' of my mistaken behaviours, because I felt what was like a powerful cloud of disparagement hanging over me causing me an unnatural depression. I believe in the power of thought, given enough energy, to cause another depression - this is not an uncommon idea in the literature I have read. I'm not sure where this depressing feeling came from for me, but it could have been from the same source that seeks to injure me.

I have recently put in a request for distance healing at a website offering this type of healing free, to help those spirits sheltering near me to move on. Although I have many celestial friends neither they, nor God or the angels, intervene to move the Earthbound discarnate people from my environment. This must partly be due to free will, which I understand to be an immutable law.
Many people offer spirit release professionally, which involves 'counselling' the spirit and directing them on how to leave, and I have by no means exhausted the possibilities of this.

The people at the Saint Padre Pio Center state that one must not talk to spirits. I don't see the harm in it; however, once I said goodnight to them, and I heard a higher voice groan "That's just cost us two years..." implying they are trying to change the situation, and my loving intentions only made things worse by causing the spirits further attachment to the Earth plane. My haunting comes under the 'non-violent' category. The Saint Padre Pio Center have a wonderful prayer for these fugitive souls: http://www.saintpiocenter.org/SelfHelp/NonViolentHauntings.asp; it goes:

"Lord Jesus, master of all things created and Creator of all things, I ask for your mercy on the poor soul in this place who still suffers here on Earth. In Your goodness, Lord, You have allowed this soul to make its presence known so that (he or she) can obtain the necessary graces to enter into Your kingdom. Look now Lord, with your eyes of mercy, upon this creature whom You love and allow them to experience the joy of Your presence for all eternity. Amen."

Thanks to the group at Saint Padre Pio Center For Spiritual Warfare for that. They advise that you don't talk to these poor souls, only pray for them, (which is a wonderful thing in itself). And it's always good to ignore the voices if they trouble you, because then you can invest your energy into the Life you do wish for.

A note on approval - the above defense methodology is Christian; just as the scientific is at odds with the paranormal, the Catholic or literalist Christian can be at odds with the New Age, where I tend to look to for help. I have faith that whatever your religious lifestyle, you can find someone you approve of to help you with spiritual disturbance. [A little PS, in Ayurvedic (traditional Indian) medicine, they have 'spirit release' too, and they call it bhuta vidya].

This has been an enormous post, in which I know I have gone dangerously close to waffling, for some readers' interest. I have tried to provide information that I think will help those in a situation like mine - and it's something to chew on for those who are here as sceptical observers.
