We are spiritual pioneers

If you are experiencing spiritual phenomena that others do not recognise, maybe it would help to see yourself as a spiritual pioneer.

There is much awakening at this time in spirituality and through our interactions with the world of spirit.

This is a blog about ill health caused by spirit hostility, and as such I, and maybe you too, are here looking for a solution to this condition. It is largely "uncharted territory", and we are among its pioneers.

It maybe that we are as a race progressing towards a time of knowing when we understand ourselves to be more than just flesh and blood, that we are beings who can have a magical influence on each other, (whether beneficial or otherwise).

We are spiritual pioneers. Good luck!

Spiritual Self-Care: An Excellent Link

I have just come across an excellent document online about spiritual self-care; it seems to offer the basics of self-care that I am advocating on this blog for anyone with extra-sensory awareness and an experience of psychic attack.

Do you believe you are psychic?
Do you believe there is someone in your spiritual 'space' who is unwelcome?
Then read this document on spiritual self-care.

The document is really clear and easy to read and it helps explain what is good to know, for those in the situation described above.

Madness: How Do You React?

My world-view is very spiritual. I am a very spiritual person in my thinking, and I feel close to God. I have a firm belief in the persistence of Life after physical expiration (I believe there is a Heaven). I have had numerous experiences of Divinity and perceptions of Divine power, so my belief in God is also strong. I have certain experiences I label as paranormal, within a spiritual framework. But what if you call all this madness? What if, for you, there is no 'sixth sense'?

Being on the receiving end of such pronouncements, I can tell you that the response to my beliefs that discredits them as madness and irrational creates division, and seems to be a breeding ground for disrespect. My question here is this: is there a way of disagreeing with someone, of being skeptical of what they say, that does not create a division or disrespect that person? With madness, there is an accentuating of the personal difference that exists between us all; the mad person is not just unique, but different in mentality, and in a way that requires more effort than usual to be harmonious with them.

In the UK, a long time ago, it used to be that people deemed insane were not allowed to vote - they were a kind of lesser person. It was the same for women and criminals too! That's just a point about how we see the insane, and where we have come from.

It used to be that what I believed made no sense, and now, even though I can display a clear system of belief, and quote authorities, I feel some near to me are more than skeptical of what I say. There's a distance there, presumably in the fear of madness (which itself can be seen to be rooted in the fear of the incomprehensible violence that psychotically deluded people sometimes commit).

There's something strange in being told that what you are thinking is wrong. It can be a confrontational moment, and a moment of discomfort or exclusion.

It must be that nurses in psychiatric wards are adept in responding to delusional beliefs, responding not just with compassion, but with humour, and with care. I think this is ideal. If you think I'm mad, please hold the thought gently - because I'd rather not be distanced by that.

There must be a better way of disagreeing with someone and telling them that they are seeing things fundamentally wrongly, than by making them feel stupid or strange - without degrading them.

Everyone has different ways of responding to difference, whether rigid or flexible. Are you a tolerant person? How do you respond to human diversity? Are you open-minded? Can you engage with me emotionally and be gentle when you state that I am misled in my thinking? Or do you have no time for people who are ill, do you effectively disrespect the insane as 'lesser people'?

_______

My world-view, concerning my health, begins with an invitation to believe in the spiritual, and continues into a description of the paranormal; the consideration of the reality of an extra-sensory, spiritual dimension to Life is important in meeting me intellectually. Spirituality, it seems to me, is very much a cultural issue, - it is not a dimension of experience readily believed in my part of the world culture... Where are the spiritual psychiatrists I can discuss my condition with? The condition goes like this:
  1. Life on Earth
  2. God
  3. soul
  4. Afterlife
  5. Heaven
  6. 'Unascended' people in spirit
  7. Harmful mental interactions with unascended people in spirit
There is only one way to know about an extra-sensory, spiritual dimension to Life... and that is through extra-sensory perception. More correctly, we can also know the spiritual  through books, which report others' extra-sensory experiences. I look forward to developments within psychiatry that have respect for people with spiritual beliefs, not treating them as 'lesser people'...

In the mean time, I repeat, if you think my perceptions are false, and my beliefs are erroneous, please hold that thought gently, because I am, after all, still your dignified human brother.

Terminology And Belief

Where do I begin? How do I describe things?
  • "Health issues", "mental health issues"
  • "A condition"
  • "Diagnosed with schizophrenia"
I don't like to say I'm schizophrenic, partly because of the general connotations of unpleasantness and fear that the label may inspire; partly because I now believe I had a fairly short-term dug-induced psychosis that responded well to appropriate medication, and that I am now left experiencing a condition that may look like a psychiatric illness, while actually being a paranormal problem (though nonetheless distressing).

But how do you go about describing that? Recently I found that there was nothing I could say, beyond the intimation that I had had "an illness". The moment I start trying to put it into words, when I choose to reveal the situation, I enter into into what is essentially an argument about the paranormal - in a world not ready to believe in it.

  • 'condition' not disorder
  • psychic attack, spirit attack
I can't really talk about my condition to friends or the uninitiated; even a little discussion "wraps them up in a spider's web", strange and frightening ideation hard to believe. I'm left feeling a bit strange and unvalidated, - and sad, alone.

Of people who are not specialists in spiritual healing, I know of only one person who is willing to give me some credence - one person in the world who 'buys' what I'm trying to 'sell'. "I'm not sure whether there really is something real happening to you," he says, my Community Psychiatric Nurse - how mind-blowing that it would be someone in his position who was willing to believe me. He understands that my sensitivity yields both supportive comforting input (from the celestials), and destructive harmful input (from spirits of lesser light and happiness), and I suppose the fact that it is not all flat-out negative input that helps him believe - he has a 'spiritualist' bone in his (agnostic) body); his sister is an awakened individual in touch with her guides.
Another individual who believes me is the shamanic healer I saw who helped me feel healthy once; he affirmed that I am strong enough to 'reclaim my energetic space', and he didn't really go into lots of discussion  about what I said was happening to me, he merely agreed with me.

There is such a weight of belief against credence in the spiritual in the world today, in my part of the world. We have edged it out, disbelieved it and called it 'paranormal' (that is "outside of normal"). Perhaps this state of belief leads to repressed psychicness (that we call 'weirdness', instead of respecting psychicness when it is pronounced in someone); perhaps it also leads to problems with spirits, through our own ignorance, lack of initiation and inability to relate to the spirit world. - Who knows?

Yes it's a problem to deny our psychicness. But we do at least benefit from a lack of superstition, fear of the malus oculus (Latin) fear of the ophthalmos baskanos (Greek) - the "evil eye" - and so on. And we don't walk around daily in fear of witches and their ill-will.

So, thank you for your wisdom on some things, thank you for the medicine, but my part of the human community has large bare patches that could be more fertile (just as other parts of the global culture have wild parts of superstition that could be tamed and cut back); the definition of my condition is made difficult by my particular home area of the world's cultural awareness. There is near-blanket disbelief in Western psychiatry about spirit influence upon the mind, and this must be adversely affecting a lot of people who could otherwise be helped, or helped sooner (sooner than it takes a person to figure out themselves what's happening to them and go and find help independently of the medical system). I guess the state of medicine here makes me angry. The science-related level of spiritual awareness and willingness to believe here makes me angry.I'm a little angry writing this. But things may change, with the science side of things, the psychiatric sensitivity may change. Things do change.

Still Banging This Drum: Competing Realities

New clarity: that mine is a spiritual world-view, and is opposed to a material world-view.

Would my psychiatrist claim that there are only five senses if he had ever heard or seen or sensed with his mind directly? No,  not likely.
His is a clear material view. No God, no soul, simply a mind, five senses and a body, that's it. That's reality.

Oppositely, the spiritual world-view includes

A Deity / Deities
The individual soul and perseverance of the soul into eternity
The ability to sense spiritual reality (of God/ spirits) with the mind directly

and much more (for example, beliefs in reincarnation).

I'm quite happy with my world-view. I believe it entirely. OK, honestly, the weight of authority against me occasionally makes me wonder if I am hallucinating everything, but only for an instant. then I come back to all the friendly interactions I have. the interactions I have are mostly friendly, anyway, usually from allies from Heaven, of friends and family who have transcended to the spiritual life.

Lets look at this carefully:

Most people are not actively spiritually sensitive.
Many people call themselves spiritual but have little or no knowledge of the detail of life and the Other World that someone who has researched spiritual sensitivity has, for example a member of a Spiritualist Church.

This places spiritually sensitive people in a minority, and makes those not sensitive largely ignorant of some aspects of life.
One step further from religious beliefs, which are so common - one step further than arguments over the existence of God is the reality of the spiritually sensitive, partly hemmed in by skeptics and James Randls. As I said, I'm quite happy with my world-view. It's a good world, largely, with all its love, friendship and hope.

And need it be said that one step further from spiritualism (holding a spiritual world-view and believing in/possessing spiritual sensitivity) is any manner of conditions characterised by suffering from negative spiritual interactions. The rarity of this kind of suffering makes it so much less credible to most, though no less real. As I said in a recent post, spiritual teachers often advocate methods of spiritual self-protection, such as shielding.

For a spiritual problem, it is necessary to find a spiritual solution. Thus probably devaluing the interventions of medical psychiatry. (My psychiatrist has agreed to me cutting down on anti-psychotic medicine, as I have told him I would like to try life without it; I believe that I will be well, better off emotionally, and able to cope with my suffering - I don't think I absolutely need the medicine. But medicine is a tricky issue - always take the utmost care and make important decisions with your supervising professional). It is likely not going to help going to a materialist for help with your spiritual problem. I know how it feels to be told you are ill when you are crying out for help, - to be ignored and made wrong. There are many professional spiritual 'helaers' who can deal with problems due to negative spiritual interactions. I have found a number of such individuals in London, who I have on a list to see. I have been living with Earthbound spirit-people for years, have come to a full awareness of the fact, and am ready to deal with it, and will see atop UK professional in the area of spirit release this winter. I will record the results of that here on this blog, of course -and if she is unable to help, I will find someone else, and so on until I can get a solution.

So, I'm going to dare to say it: if you feel sure that you are suffering from spiritual problems based on negative interactions, or something similar, and people tell you you are insane, get a second opinion. There are in fact an abundance of people who can help. The people who can help you will be those who hold a spiritual world-view and believe in the reality of 'extra-sensory perception'. You can be well.

The Rarity of Problematic Spiritual Interactions Discussed

I just wrote in my last post that what I experience, that looks like classic delusions of  persecution, and seems like a reality of negative spiritual interactions, is rare. It is rare for people to be 'spiritually disturbed' (that's disturbed as in 'bothered' by mischievous or malevolent human beings in spirit). I believe it is rare. As I have said that's why it's paranormal, meaning 'beyond' normal. However in the subculture of those who are spiritual and having spiritual sensory perception, it is common for teachers to mention protection.

Being 'grounded' is important for psychic safety. This means having a close energetic connection with Earth and being grounded in everyday reality and the physical.
Secondly shielding is used, whereby a person can visualise spiritual light coming around them, often recommended to be in the shape of a large bubble or egg shape to fill the biofield; this has the purpose of dispelling darkness of all forms (including keeping at bay undesirable spiritual influences).
It's that simple.

Or is it? I have been fairly neglectful of shielding. I do it occasionally, but there is something in me that makes it difficult, enough to want to avoid trying. To be honest, it can seem as though this ability in me is weak because it is externally blocked; I may come to practice this more and develop the ability to be a strong visualiser.
Shielding is recommended for spiritual safety, as the very occurrence of visualising light around the self attracts that spiritual light to you and naturally keeps you safe and happy.

So an important point here is that spiritual teachers often recommend that we take care, to defend us from spiritual dangers, which can strike the uninitiated. One thing they will say is that drug-taking (which coincided with my problems) can be dangerous, spiritual, and I would add that the more naturally sensitive you are as a person (even if that sensitivity has not hitherto awakened) the more you should take care to avoid drug use.

When you find a website on psychic development, very often, it seems, the teachers on that website will recommend that you consciously clean the aura with visualisation, shield it, ground and stay safe. So is spiritual danger such a rarity? Clearly it is still something to be countered, even if it is relatively rare that people get bothered by spirits, entities and stuck energies.

I don't think it's just 'being spiritually sensitive' [I prefer not to say 'psychic', for clarity, as this term can be used to mean 'of the mind/soul'] that endangers a person. I think there is another element. I'd say most spiritual and sensitive people don't have problems with troublesome beings and the like. I think there must be an added element of vulnerability, perhaps in the strength, or want of it, in an individual's aura. Or perhaps some people develop great sensitivity somehow, whether through drug-taking or natural awakening, and this exposes them to danger, when uninitiated. (Being initiated means that you know you something, and here it means that you know how to be safe, for example through grounding and shielding and avoiding spiritually unsafe habits.)

Different people have different spiritual gifts, some sensing vibrations of trees and people, for example. others being able to sense atmospheres in a room. As you will know by now, my gift is to hear the voices of people in Heaven, and of Earthbound spirits [(ghosts)], and my trouble is picking up the attention of spirits in part-ascension [stuck in their spiritual evolution and focusing attention of discontent on the earth plane]. I'm not lucky enough to feel vibrations or atmospheres, but I know people who can. I call these gifts, because 'when horse is before cart' (and not vice versa), these abilities truly are gifts, that we carry into physical existence and that can serve ourselves and other people.

I know that you can be very afraid reading about spiritual 'bogies', and I think this needn't be. In this universe (and in any universe), beings are supposed ot be safe and live happily; this is the natural direction of things. However, different levels of sensitivity, I think, come with different degrees of difficulty, although most will not be affected. You have to find what's right for you. I don't even like to think about some things that are supposed to be out there (in the ether), as a way of not attracting them to me. For me, I stick to positivity and hope. That's my solution. You may feel instant benefit from 'shielding'. You may find someone to help you heal first time seeing them. You may need to seek solitude and pray and fast. Something will work whatever your situation.
They say "the mills of the gods grind slow, but they grind small" - it may take time, but when things are better, they will be very good. I have read that life can move in large cycles, over several years. It may be that you have to 'play at Odysseus', and be vulnerable for some time before things get ironed out - but then you will be very strong and happy, and know that your sensitivity is a gift.

Analysis of My Inner Experience, For The Interested

Why do we have the notion of possession in our common global culture? Why do we have belief in the persistence of a soul and in an afterlife? Ponder, ponder....

I've read a little about classic schizophrenic thought patterns and experience. I wish to compare myself to these stated symptoms.

I don't exactly experience thought insertion, though I experience something similar, which I'll come to later.
I don't experience thought withdrawal, at all.
If I watch TV or listen to the radio I feel that thoughts, usually of a disparaging/injurious nature, are being compelled out of me by a malicious third party, so I don't partake of these media. To me this is not so much an instance of 'delusion of reference' as an instance of thought broadcasting. I believe that telepathy is possible, so I assume responsibility for this and stay away from TV and radio; I haven't watched TV in three and a half years, which is unusual in this society! (I have found corroboration for my beliefs in telepathy in the Earth Life series by Sanaya Roman, of which the first book is called Living With Joy; a basic premise in these books is that we are everyone of us telepathic beings who are in constant communciation with the universe on the thought level, and for example, thinking negatively about another person is enough to cause them a moment of thinking negatively about themselves! For me this is reality, and these books advocate to those who are able to send thoughts that they are responsible). If you buy the hypothesis, someone with thought-broadcasting ability is so powerfully a telepathic sender that they avoid public situations; for me the thought-broadcasting is compelled, with the ever-present associated feeilng of a malicious third party.
I'll write about how I think it's possible for thoughts to be compelled out of me a little later.

Another technical term - 'passivity', when a person feels they are being subtly controlled by special means. I experience a little of this, and I very strongly dislike it. It occurs in two ways: what I call thought-overriding and thought-changing. In my experience I interact with three kinds of spiritual people: 1) ghosts, who wander the Earth as mistaken fugitives from Heaven, 2) spirits a little further away who are still close to the Earth, who I have called 'demons' (probably a mistake, although gratifying, because it sets up a pattern of warfare), who have some kind of persisting advantage over us sensitive and vulnerable types and 3) celestial spirits ranging from family to extended family, and this third group of people visit me very frequently. [Intriguingly, and as crazy as it sounds - I prefer honesty - a number of my 'extended family' led famous lives on Earth, and equally intriguingly, they dislike being named, for the sake of humility.] The third group are very loving and never harm me - in fact they provide me with friendship and support in every detail of Life. The first group find it easy to over-ride my thoughts - and I imagine others will identify with this - I have the feeling that they forcefully override my thoughts and make them prurient, in the simple sense, or disrespectful, in the simple sense, or make me think in harsh, ie rude language, the language called 'cursing' or 'swearing'. This is what I was referring to as being like thought insertion. The passivity also extends beyond the mental realm into more bodily expressions: I express foreign instinctive behaviour - I often look about me for the opopsite sex with 'lustful eyes'; when this happens, there is the overriding, then I am able to restrain myself perfectly, and with regret. So much for the lower kind of disturbance.

I often have a sense of being kept from full happiness, which has in the past been much stronger together with a sense of accustaion and dismissal of my worth. This seems to come from somewhere outside of me; I thought for years I had been cursed by someone I knew because of some misdeed, but now I believe it is purely from the attention of spirits.

On to the higher level of disturbance. Just as I hear ghosts' voices coming from outside me in my surroundings (occasionally too they are able to literally murmur their communications through my mouth), so do I get a sense that the stronger disturbance comes from a place not in the immediate surroundings, but futher away, as if just beyond the Earth dimension. Secondly I feel as though this soul or these souls are bonded to me, anchored into me, such is the strength of the connection. Thoughts from these more malicious spirits, who as I said could be called demons, are intent on causing maximum injury, and they work in a different way. If I am thinking, and there is a related topic that could, say, infer a call for me having low self-esteem, my attention will be forcibly 'pushed' into this associated idea. This thought-changing operates by pushing my awareness into distressing associations, whether blasphemous ideas, violent ideas, or unsought sexual ideas. These are never seemingly my ideas, but they come into my awareness. I am not having subjective violent or sexual urges, but am being tortured, as it were, with distressing ideas. Just as with the 'ghosts', with the spirits further away, their passivisation of me extends beyond the mental into the physical, and specifically into body language and facial expression that in certain circumsatnces expresses to cause the appearance that I am unfriendly or even untrustworthy, which doesn't help my social phobia!

And this is how it all works. As far as I am aware, the fact is that spirits can hear our thoughts easily. This is just the way it is outside physical existence. (There is some evidence that in Heaven the primary form of communication is telepathic or emotional communciation, at least at higher levels of celestial existence).

Secondly, I believe that spirits are able to change our thoughts easily, just by exerting their will, which must in their cases be quite developed, from habit. Higher spirits from Heaven would not do this because it violates laws of Freedom.

What's the cure? It could be spiritual healing, or if you're lucky you can send a spirit away by focussing on Love and pray for the healing of the disturbed souls that are in turn disturbing you.

That's the long and the short of it.

As a PS, I'd like to add a note that brings home the reality of this condition to readers. Living without privacy is in the physical realm a situation engineered as a form of psychological torture, and this is what happens when you have the sense of openness that goes with thought-broadcasting/ thought insertion etc; and with me this loss of boundaries is something compelled by an apparent third party. Secondly the degree of injury that occurs through apparent disturbance of thinking patterns, which people with schizophrenia sometimes choose to call spiritual oppression can be considered like a form of torture also. It's that bad. You suffer very much and end up with low resilience sometimes and tiredness of spirit.

All this has a prevailing ring of unbelievableness to it, I know. Articulate psychotic exposition or underrated account of an esoteric reality? I hope it will help you, even if just as an interesting viewpoint of someone diagnosed with schizophrenia.
