A Book On Telepathy and Psychic Sensitivity That Changed My Life

It was early on in my alternative health journey that I discovered a book called The Sensitive Person's Survival Guide: An Alternative Health Answer to Emotional Sensitivity & Depression by Kyra Mesich Psy.D.

I had been hearing difficult voices inside and feeling reduced mental privacy and feeling a hostile influence on my thoughts for a few years, with no sure sense that this could really be real, as it seemed to be, which I understood was contrary to medical opinion. Dr Mesich's book documents her own case of telepathic transference from another person on Earth. Here for the first time was a published account by a doctor of psychology convincingly documenting the factual nature of psychic sensitivity. Her book goes further and focuses on psychic empathy and using flower essences to establish proper psychic and mental boundaries.

To read this book gave me so much catharsis at the time - I think it was four years after onset of opening and illness - so much so that I immediately wrote home to say that I had had a great healing. Really what had happened was that I had been made so happy and been so validated by the corroboration by this person's description of telepathy that the release of positive mental strength made me think I had almost recovered. The catharsis went away though, but I was still raised up by my new perspective on my inner life.

The book is out there to read. It was published in the year 2000 by iUniverse. It can be bought from Amazon and other places online.

The Sensitive Person's Survival Guide helped me believe in the possibility that it was real for me not to be a discrete entity with a separate mind, but part of a connected spiritual universe which I could sense and be influenced by mentally.

Flower essences didn’t use to noticeably help me, but now when I take them I feel something, a slight stimulating action around my head, and hope that they are helping me change; I guess as they are vibrational medicine, you might have to be sensitive to energies for them to work. It would be the same with crystals. I am not hugely sensitive to crystals as some can be, but I truly believe they help me. I have seen a sparkle of golden healing light around one I was wearing for healing that told me it was good for me. The volcanic glass "obsidian" is supposed to serve to protect against negative outside influences, and the mineral "black tourmaline" is supposed to give a personal energetic shield to those who are holding it to defend them. I have found black tourmaline very grounding, so that keeping a big piece in my lap when sitting will restore my Earth connection and reduce the disturbing influence of spirits near me. I really love obsidian. There are others I know of, these are the most obvious aids for anyone who is particularly psychically vulnerable.

I have been directed to a so-called high vibration stone by the soul of my deceased father, for healing; I 'heard' him give me the name for it in my mind. You can search online for high vibration stones, and I think such stones would hold an Earth vibration that is higher than that of any interior conflict. When I hold them I feel a little stronger. I have to work with the ones my father recommended more, I would like to keep going with them. I love them, but I get a far more noticeable effect from the big pieces of obsidian I have. It is said obsidian must be used consciously. I think if you are spiritually troubled, obsidian would be one good place to start in looking for support from the mineral kingdom. To me it is symbolic of the intense heat and power of the Earth, and of the first qualities of being, and it somehow stabilises your natural order by virtue of its properties.
To anyone who is looking for ways to heal from spiritual illness or who is looking to heal and transform their psychic sensitivity, I really recommend searching for high vibration minerals online and working with one or some of them. I like to sit in meditation with them holding them and focus on my Earth connection.
A few times I have been directed to work with specific crystals by Heaven souls, so I know this is good for me, and may well help you too.

One note about working with minerals and crystals: I was told by a healer that even a small piece is enough to connect with the energy of which the stone is a medium, but for me it seems to be that the bigger the mineral or crystal, the more I notice a change from it.

Other ideas: I believe the healing energy of the Earth is always all around us, and feeding us life force all day every day of our lives. I think we don't technically need a  stone, because we are perpetually in an energy bath of all stones just by being on the Earth, if we only knew it. Just going outside is healing, and the Earth energy is alive and emanating within every home too.
The mineral kingdom has become much more popular in the last few decades. I think if we work with crystals and minerals it is very good to be grateful for them and to the Earth for the gift of them, and take care when gathering them from mines. It does us so much good to be mindful of our organic nature and connection to the Earth and to be grounded, and loving and working with crystals helps this.

For every problem there is a corresponding solution. I write here of a book that helped my journey and was a landmark in my life, and I write here of one of the gifts that have come to me from the Universe to bring me healing. Maybe some of you people out there reading this have never heard of flower essences and might like to look into them for assistance in your spiritual evolution on Earth - there are many essences to choose from taken from the world's flowers and some who take them say they are truly helped.
I think one thing that helps very much for someone who has opened to the spirit world and is having problems - whether that features mortal or discarnate negative psychic influence - is to get skills, to learn psychic development. There are many good books that can be bought and studied about becoming a skilled sensitive. The other thing is to work on your heart and your beliefs so that your life changes from the inside. And if you are having trouble shifting everything, get help from an expert spiritual healing practitioner.

Lastly, thank you Dr Mesich for changing the course of my life.

Psychicness Good, Psychicness Bad

How much psychicness is good for you?

My opinion:
  • In the average person, only a little psychicness is necessary.
It is good to be a little open, because we profit by psychicness:
  • for intuition - the helpful 'gut feeling' or immediate impression of a situation;
  • for insights and ideas that come from the Greater Universal Consciousness;
  • sensing energies that help us form opinions about situations and be safe.

And of course, modified openness is preferable - ie you are open when you wish to be and closed when you wish to be, not exposed to the pollution and hostility that could enter your awareness psychically when open all the time. (Equally, I'd say many people know nothing of spiritual techniques of psychic self-care, and suffer because of it, whether it be nightmares, taking on others emotions towards them or constantly feeling subconscious anger about unresolved conflicts that physically passed long before).

Uninitiated Use Of Entheogens and Hallucinogens And Mental Health

I just wrote in the previous post about being ignorant of the full effects of cannabis.

Cannabis does more than give you a pleasing mental sensation, it is a portal agent, it activates and opens the spiritual senses, it awakens soul awareness. Fine if you are a shaman; trouble if you are an unknowing teenager.

As the uninitiated user, you have no existing contact with guides and angels - those soul guardians who guide you through danger to well-being, - and also, not to mention the fact that your ego is unprepared for receiving numerous large spiritual gifts in the form of Divine communion, spiritual euphoria, infusion of understanding and other blessings. You know nothing of the quietness and peacefulness with which you must receive the new influx of energy coming to you, - you know nothing of the subsequent dangers of mental derangement that can follow.

I think the most important thing, in terms of a person's safety, drawing conclusions from my own experience is how spiritually orientated you are before you get into deep water (say, from using cannabis intensively)
An analogy: if someone leaves prison with no goals of how to rectify things and make a new life for themselves, they will likely quickly buckle to pressure and fall into criminality again. Similarly, if someone opens the doors of spiritual awareness, perhaps unaware of the fact, and without firm anchoring in contacts and connections in Heaven with the good spirits there, what will happen? - they will be subsumed and broken by the force of the energy that will come in first to them to fill any vacuums, they will walk straight into darkness and an overwhelming amount of psychic pollution.

The ongoing spiritual threats to one's personal health and safety come from not being securely anchored in contact with good spirits before taking in the shamanic 'entheogen' or hallucinogen in sufficient quantities to lead to a large change in awareness.

The threats to one's psychological health might come from being unprepared for spiritualisation and an upsurge of psychic energy when taking in the shamanic 'entheogne' or hallucinogen in sufficient quantities to lead to a large change in awareness.

Also these substances that transform awareness and spiritualise are likely solemnly venerated by those that use them ritually - it probably does not help matters that other cultures such as mine appropriate them and use them at will and without ceremony. This raises questions on the sacred and the profane, on defilement and violation.
I saw a shamanic healer who released a cannabis spirit entity from my aura, that I was holding captive - presumably a part of me formed during dependence on the plant's 'narcotic' effects. The healer told me the plant spirit was very angry with me, and that I was forbidden by it from taking in that narcotic substance ever again.
- We might not annoy spirits in Heaven by irreverent use of cannabis (but maybe we do), but it seems possible that we can annoy and injure the spirit of the plant itself. This serves to demonstrate that everything has consciousness at some level.
I wonder how much the cannabis plant is suffering in these times, due to dependence and use that in fact leads to a darkening of personal qualities through unconscious psychic opening and overshadowing.

As an example the Wikipedia page on Ayahuasca [Mighty Wikipedia! A frequent source of mine], found here, lists plants used in the Ayahuasca mixture, some of which are purposefully used for their protective qualities. For example:
  • Shiwawaku bark: Brings purple medicine to the ceremony. Provides healing and protection.
  • Camu camu Gigante: Head spirit comes in the form of a large dark skinned giant. He provides medicine and protection in the form of warding off dark and demonic spirits.
  • Tamamuri: Head spirit looks like an old Asian warrior with a long white wispy beard. He carries a staff and manages thousands of spirits to protect the ceremony and send away energies that are purged from the participants.
  • Uchu Sanango: Head of the sanango plants. Provides power, strength, and protection. Head doctor spirit is a grandfather with a long, gray-white beard.
  • Huacapurana: Giant tree of the amazon with very hard bark. Its head spirits come in the form of Amazonian giants and provide a strong grounding presence in the ceremony.
I have boldened and underlined some key phrases in this list of some plants used in the Ayahuasca ceremony, which I found on Wikipedia. Notice the presence of giants and thousands of good spirits! Obviously the shamans involved will work with the strong good spirits of the plants used, and through the age of the tradition, will have built up a relationship with them. They are like energy forms associated with the ceremony that they call on. I read about someone who used morning glory, outside of its native tradition, and came into contact with the spiritual persona of the plant, who welcomed and blessed and healed her (but said also that the way in which she approached the plant before use, which was with reverence, was good, but could have been better). You have to be on the energetic and shamanic end of belief to buy into this if it is not your first hand experience.
The point is that the medicine men who use entheogens and hallucinogens take their spiritual safety very seriously, and work with powerful good spirits to perpetuate their well-being; they also use the substances solemnly and with reverence.

The use of these drugs requires a certain amount of caution to be safe, such as active relationship with celestial guardians, and management of the aura (grounding, 'shielding', and closing down). However, this is not to say that there wil always be risks. The damage done to a person's aura may be cumulative, as it seemed to be with me - for some years I occasionally used cannabis to the point of strong intoxication without spiritualisation or mental disturbance. The dual reputation of cannabis as variously recreational or reverend in nature, depending on one's culture, also attests to the idea that in reality, the drug is not always damaging to the mind. Similarly, people still find reason to argue over whether cannabis use can cause psychosis (not that I have any reason to argue about that, my experience was obvious).

So, in conclusion, please leave this page with the belief that there is reason to at least be cautious with drug use, and that some degree of intiation into the potential effects of some drugs is very important for those who choose to involve themselves with them.

Esoteria

In this post I wish to write about the human aura as it affects my story. I have called this post 'esoteria' because this is an esoteric topic. They say these days are a time of revealing, as esoteric knowledge is available to anyone. This is supposed to mark a new phase of human evolution. There is a downside to all the new awareness and personal deveopment that comes with the passing of the esoteric into the common heritage, and it is this: people experimenting in dangerous ways. Reading about spiritual safety, it is often said that people should not ordinarily use the 'oui-ja board', because it invites the attention of ghosts, leading to hauntings, possession or spiritual harrassment. Another thing that you may be warned about when reading about spiritual safety is drug use.

In any spiritual practice, it is important to close down the 'chakras' afterwards. The 'chakras' or energy centres are part of our subtle energetic biology and are responsible for downstepping the Universal energy to sustain us in physical form; (the entire sysyem includes the meridians, small channels of subtle energy that cover the physical form, which are used in acupuncture). Spiritual activity opens up the chakras; just as we may wish to open the chakras to pursue our spiritual course, it is also important to close them down afterwards. Here is an example of a method of closing the chakras taken from elsewhere on the Interweb: http://www.mindworks.uk.com/website/chakra.htm .

Before I go on, I'd like to introduce another esoteric idea: that we are all creative beings who can attract different circumstances to us through our thoughts feelings and behaviours. This esoteric belief is emerging with great force into the public consciousness through literary information such as the famous book "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. If I've made you nervous writing about spiritual safety and closing down the chakras, follow this next link and it will balance your emotions http://www.askahealer.com/spiritual-protection.htm . I read this page last night and it was a real comfort. Fear itself is 'attractive', so it's good to have a balanced awareness! I've come to realise that you can bring change by focussing on growing what you love in Life just as easily and more easily than by fighting with what you don't like.

So from reading the page linked above on chakras you will know that closing down prevents us from absorbing unwanted energies, such as other's stress.

I didn't know about any of this either, when my breakdown began. Do a little reading and you will find that drug use opens up the aura. Secondly, cannabis use is known to turn off your natural spiritual defenses by it's effect on the aura. The human aura, when healthy, encloses you in a bubble that admits health-giving universal energies and has a modicum of defense against unloving energies. Drug use can leave you vulnerable. When I got ill, with all the distrust I felt towards my girlfriend, and all the dislike I caused myself from her from conflict with her, and all the profound fear I felt in full breakdown when having horrific hallucinations, I believe all of this, in combination with an aura that has been damaged by cannabis use, has polarised me to attract negative daily experiences and be in a state of spiritual vulnerability.

But I don't wish to create a bleak picture and leave you all staring frightened at you computer monitors. The human spirit is mighty indeed; it is divine. I'm sure that you, like me, can cope with anything, even adverse spiritual circumstances, if it comes down to it.
Closing down the chakras will help keep you safe, if you are interested in spirituality. I also think that it is important to keep one foot firmly in the 'everyday', to stay grounded and functional, whatever lifestyle you choose. It took me a sizeable degree of cannabis over-use to get where I am, having only partial awareness of what the drug does (ie not knowing that it's holy as well as fun), and I believe my circumstances of vulnerability are... rare. Things are getting better all the time, and I expect to be back to normal one day, whether through my own effort or with the help of a spiritual healer of some kind. (Two years ago I saw a shamanic healer who was able to heal my completely, but only for a few hours).

So that was a whirlwind tour of a section of the esoteric beliefs that are currently emerging into common awareness. I have educated myself in these matters over the course of my journey into full health, which has been, by-the-by spiritually enlightening in that respect. There are books you can buy on 'psychic protection' ranging from cuddly-nice to beyond-scary-don't-touch. If you're on my level, I really recommend a book called Psychic Protection: Creating Positive Energies For People And Places, by William Bloom, published by Piatkus. Buy it here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Psychic-Protection-Creating-Positive-Energies/dp/0749916036/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1254657686&sr=1-4 .

If you think you're experiencing circumstances of spiritual vulnerability, remember to have hope! This is great. Educate yourself, there are many methods of self-defense you can try, and consider finding a spiritual healer to help you, for example a shamanic or Reiki healer. Have faith too, in a benign universe that is actually manifested from pure love and strive to se through the mysterious illusion of fear and suffering. Life has other purposes than for us to be suffering intensely!

With love and best wishes, Mr. S
