Community of Expanded Awareness, And Tolerance

This whole thing about expanded awareness would be a lot easier if I hadn't got really ill - that little fact of illness means everyone is very skeptical, once you start to fill them in on the details! Actually, "acceptance" of being psychic for a lot of people can still be just an attitude of detached skepticism and perceptions of eccentricity, I imagine, like looking at someone 'askance' and saying "Okay. (You're not hurting anyone...) You get on with it."

But really, I, and maybe you too, can assert that There Is A God, and that knowing God and angels and Heavenly spirits directly and not just through belief Is A Gift.

You make your own mind up, just for you, without worrying about what others think, whether they think being psychic is associating with the Devil, or... whether they call you insane.
There's not really anyone to fight over this. We can let the world get on with its thing and evolve. Little point in arguing.

Funny, state-run psychiatry is state-sanctioned secularism, an officially sanctioned non-spiritual belief system. But lets not get down about it, but be bold in our convictions and feel a sense of community here. There is hope for us personally, and for a more integrated psychological belief system to be held by those medics with professional power.

I for one see having a sensitive mind as a positive thing in itself, and I hope that anyone who needs to feel that also, can do so.

The root thought here is that you can feel alone, not knowing anyone with similar experience and perspective - and that secondly, you can feel hurt when others disbelieve you, judge you, treat you roughly in some way, just through their own difference of nature. But let's not carry around anger, as a principle, but tolerance, just the same as can exist between all people, essentially, and particularly when it comes to matters of belief. That way, with tolerance, we make room for a happier world to grow with us.

Happy day! You might be what they call "psychic", and you can also think that it's okay to be psychic. Being psychic can do you and others a lot of favours! This is good news! God is Love.

I also affirm that, wondrously, hallucination, delusion and psychic perception can occur side by side.Which is confusing at the time! And can seem impossible to rational people at the other end of the mental sensitivity / intuitive spectrum, but there we go. Like I have written before, for those with an inclination to believe here: if a person can be psychic, then why not also those people who happen to have symptoms of serious mental illness / serious disturbance to brain-mind functioning. If them, then why not  me too? Why not?

The other night I woke up with an awareness of what I was dreaming. In the dream I saw the words written "He is so precious. He's a psychic." This I interpreted to mean that someone was appreciating me, and confirming my psychic awareness (following the belief that dreams can be a forum for extra-sensory phenomena and communication). This was something very special to me. Validation can come from within! Even when it seems no-one in the world believes or supports you. But I say to you who have mighty convictions of your own sensitivity of mind, you too are precious.

Thank you,

Mr. S.

Spirituality Reality, Schizophrenia Diagnosis and Cultural Norms

Diagnosed with schizophrenia today, the doctor said that she had to think of my relation to spiritual cultural norms when making the diagnosis. Which is funny (!), because she didn't know anything about the spiritual reality, it seemed. She didn't know what "psychic" means.

I think, in my country at least, that non-religious people outnumber those who are active members of religious communities. Of those who do attend religious ceremonies, a smaller percentage will have spiritual awareness of some kind, and a smaller percentage again will have problems from their awareness (such as empathic issues, even ordinary issues of psychic attack) - and then a tiny minority will suffer from demonic possession, ghost attachments and demonic attack/ spiritual attack.

In other words, most people know nothing of this kind of reality painfully raised as a problem here on Diagnosis: Schizophrenia!!!!!!!!!!! It's not a spiritual awareness, ESP or parapsychic community norm! Good luck trying to get many healers to believe you! (I'm sorry, but I've come to the belief that many professional healers are not strong enough to deal with advanced psychic attack like this, not even to recognise it or believe in it often.) Religiously speaking, I believe it would take about seven Christian bishops 'laying their  hands' on me to restore me to health; that's the kind of power required here (guessed going on feel and experience). If I ever recover by myself I'll be as strong as seven bishops...

And here's another post item, but I'll wrap it into this one: ignorance is only a small excuse when it comes to spiritual danger.
I was raised in a religious family, but one without any notion of spiritual techniques for well-being, and consequently, I had no idea of spiritual dangers - like acquiring the attention of transient spirits, like the possibility of over-spiritualisation by drug use, like psychic pollution. Part-knowledge of spirituality was handed to me.
The fact is that we are expected by Heaven and God to look after ourselves in part - we have some responsibility for our psycho-spiritual well-being. This may be as simple as shielding the aura three times daily with white light. We could go on to spiritual grounding, and then on to energy chakra maintenance, depending on our personal need. These subjects are all covered in psychic development, and with luck we can find out for ourselves about these things as and when we need to.

I'm really going on something I read, that each of us is expected to do our bit to maintain our psycho-spiritual well-being, which goes a long way to helping God and Heaven help us. But that's a great thing. At least then we know, and can answer some of our feelings, that it is partly up to us to care for ourselves.

In the first place, ideally, be knowing. In the second place, take care of yourself.

So, I now know about the spiritual dangers of drug-taking (I suppose mainly for sensitive people). And I know that there are methods for generating a positive energy for oneself, and going on from there to purify the self if necessary. I am not helpless, I can help myself.

Here's a theory to leave you with: that some parts of the 'civilised' world, although they are becoming rapidly more spiritual, are lacking in the cultural 'apparatus' (spiritual beliefs and techniques) to always ground the new energy that spirituality brings them, resulting in insanity and spiritual disturbance for some. What do you think?

My General Point of View: Schizophrenia And Spirituality

I recently had a debate with someone close to me, via letter, about the way I see the world. My position, as someone who has parapsychic experiences, must be like the way a mystic feels when denounced by atheists. There is an experiential divide, which is sadly being used as a basis for argument... I mean one person is open to things that the other cannot know, yet that other person claims to know more.

Most people are unaware of the paranormal, as a real experience rather than an idea or belief system; this must be true. The paranormal, or spiritual experience, is a less popular branch of reality than mere spiritual belief is, - and we all know how contentious that is. So with the paranormal we are dealing with something like a niche belief that inspires everything from scorn and ridicule to labels of insanity. It's no wonder that I, as someone who claims to be very psychic, has trouble being believed in that claim, especially once my past history of illness is brought into frame. What's more, I even think that the world I know is unusual in occult terms, a paranormal paranormality.

Here's my point of view:
  • If you have spiritual belief, embrace the sixth sense. Scientists know that we do not find traces of God in the Universe - unless they argue that Everything is God. So God is therefore an extra-sensory reality... to be known by extra-sensory perception. As a spiritual person, either you know God, or you have faith in someone who does. Do you have any experiences of God? Then the chances are that they came as special sensings, or in dreams.
  • It is a common belief in mediumistic circles that everyone has psychic capability that can be developed into active extra-sensory perception. Logically, this even includes people with profound mental illness. Schizophrenic people can also be psychic. Schizophrenic people can be having extra-sensory perceptions - whatever the doctors say, who deny the possibility of 'voices' being real, and turn a blind eye to spiritualism, claiming that there are only five senses.

So these are my views. I admit, I'm a little angry after this debate, because of the perceived emotion in the other person who I was corresponding with. You can sense a closed mind, and it's insulting when someone presumes you must be wrong because you have had psychosis, even though they may actually believe that psychic perception is possible.

My Point of View: General Catalogue of My Beliefs. Complete Confession!!

I was raised as a Christian, and I am a Christian, I hope in a vital sense.

I am also open, believing that though we are many races on one planet, there is only one Earth: I am open to truth wherever it comes from.

I read the Bible, and scholarship about the Bible and the Christian faith.

I am interested in faith independent of the flaws of organised religion (and I do believe that the 'organised' forms of spirituality can have flaws). But that's just to say that there are aspects of some forms of Christianity that don't appeal to me.

So I love various parts of the Christian tradition, but not always all of them, and I don't follow exactly the ways of any one denomination. Having said that, I'm still closest to the Anglican tradition - whilst drawing on aspects of Roman Catholicism! I like the Litany of the Virgin Mary. I admire Padre Pio and trust his teachings. I have spiritually seen Mother Teresa around me, caring for me.

I am interested in the Christianity of the early Church, imagining the believers of those times to have had great fervour and purity of heart.

So, I do call myself a Christian; but I have to say that I respect many forms of religion on the planet, and recognise their spiritual gifts. I respect the devotion of a heart that loves Divinity, when I sense it in writing or people of various faiths.

Although for me 'God' is the 'Father' of Jesus, whereby the Virgin Mary was immaculately conceived, I do not see God as a male being in human likeness. For me, God is a "pure creative spirit" (as was told to Neale Donald Walsch).

I admire the spiritual evolution of the people of India, in their concepts of Brahman, the pure creative spirit of great power, and the transcendent being that manifests as all Creation.

Additionally, I have a love of the Spiritualist Church, appreciating their apparent sincerity and purity of heart, and I am grateful for their example as a social 'place' where clairaudience and clairvoyance are natural human faculties deemed normal.

A lot of things that the Christian church might frown on, I embrace as actually being acceptable and helpful in combating intrusive spiritual hostility. I am happy to respectfully borrow the habit of smudging from native American shamanism (rather like ecclesiastical use of incense). I am happy to borrow from spiritualist knowledge about spirit guides to seek assistance from these celestial bosom buddies in my spiritual evolution and spiritual safety. I am happy to look outside the Church for spirit release, trusting the orientation of those who may help as professional sensitives (even a duty which the modern Church variously abandons).

My personal experiences of Deity are varied; they are all spiritual experiences, happening in altered states, and open to the usual criticisms (!), - but still I ask them to be respected. I have had experiences of Deity outside of my own cultural forms. I have had a clear indication that Islam and Christianity pray to the exact same Deity. I have experienced God as the Absolute, as the Father, as Goddess; I have seen Jesus nearby me (see my poem) and heard a personal message from him; I have known saints of Christian and Indian traditions, again outside of ordinary perception; I have had a vision of the Virgin Mary in a dream - she was smiling at me; I have been visited in a caring way by a person born in India said to be an incarnation of God (just as Christians hold Jesus to be). Of all the worlds in all the universe that bear Life, is ours the only one graced with one single incarnation of God, as Jesus? Jesus is supposed to have said to someone recently, that all paths are his paths.

If we don't hear Spirit with our inner ears, and see Spirit with our inner eyes, how do we know Spirit at all? We can only follow others and believe what we are taught. How can you know an extra-sensory reality except by extra-sensory perception?

I have to admit that I have a strong interest in Goddess religions of the world - perhaps from a desire for wholeness and balance that my culture today can suppress, who knows? There must be a reason why I feel drawn to that representation of Divinity.

I believe God shows up whenever we love God, whatever we conceive God to be. I believe God is liberal in the way God responds to our beliefs, and principally God loves to  have relationship with us.

I don't believe that New Age spirituality is rejected by God; I have read that if you have trouble with the world of Spirit, New Age beliefs should be rejected in favour of a strict adherence to Christianity. Obviously the point of this blog is that we are all spiritual beings, and some behaviours and practices can be risky or downright dangerous - so educate people to take care. Smudge before and after spiritual practices! Close down the chakras after spiritual practices! Shield before and after spiritual practices! Cleanse your aura regularly! And ground your energy. A lot of people of 'New Age' belief seem to think that there is no evil and that we cannot ever be invaded. Obviously, we may encounter evil in spirit just as on the Earth, and we may not always be spiritually safe, especially if we are ignorant of danger and of the necessity and proper techniques of spiritual self-care. But all is for the best, as "Pangloss" says, no matter how grim things can be. I see the New Age movement primarily as a movement away from organised religion: it is a movement of individuality, and thus of personal knowledge of Divinity, and therefore can't be so bad.

This is a concise version of my beliefs, for your interest, to inform how you see what I write on this blog, and so you can dismantle any bias that may be present.

So, welcome to Diagnosis: Schizophrenia, people of faith; I'm reassured that you're here. And to the everyone agnostic or atheist - peace be with you.

Psychic Protection, Spiritual Safety

I turned a corner recently, in my thinking. I read that rather than visualise white light around ourselves to protect us, we are to think of it as a practice that is very powerful in raising our vibration and transmuting energy that is not moving back into light.

This is amazing!

This was the first time in all my reading that I had come across such an idea. Previously I had read only of shielding ourselves from 'negative entities', 'demons' and 'evil'.

Love thy enemy! you can't love them when you are thinking ill of them (rather than acknowledging their divinity and thinking of them with compassion). Still, people do evil. They are not themselves evil, I believe, since God makes them and cares for them still - but they are free to act irresponsibly. - And like Jesus said, he without sin cast the first stone - we are better off not judging anyone, but praying for those that hurt us.

The point is there is a vast difference between a point of view of "protection against darkness", which essentially carries a motive that affirms conflict, and "safety with Light", which is a healing and peaceful perspective. With a healing and peaceful perspective, we react to injuries not so much with anger, but with strength and compassion, understanding why a being chooses to act in a way contrary to its nature and do harm.

I think we are more likely to be safe when we adopt a position of spiritual wisdom and reconciliation with all of Life. Not to set up walls and barriers to hide behind - not to be divided against others, but to be open within the healing safety of Divine Light.

Lastly, they say every attack is an appeal for love. This is hard to see, but we can pray to be powerful in our love and compassion and be given the gift of being increased in our power to bless with health those who attack us. It's as though this drama of love happens in the unconscious parts of ourselves and plays out in the conscious in ways we don't see clearly into. There is a kind of illusion. We identify a hostile motive, but not the vulnerability beneath it. Pray, pray pray for peace to come to the consciousness of those who attack you.

Everything changes with a change in perspective.
Love embraces, fear divides, and division is endless.
In the highest sense, we are always safe! The soul is a part of the Almighty God.

I'd like to end this post with a prayer.

O God I pray for those who have harmed me in spirit:
May they find peace;
May they reflect upon their cause for aggression and find peace;
May they be reunited with the embrace of God's Light and know every good emotion that exists in God;
May their consciousnesses be healed on whatever level where they feel pain enough to harm me;
May they be reconciled with my spirit now and always;
May they know forgiveness for the harms they have done and may they feel forgiveness for whatever offenses I have done against them;
May there be Light between our spirits eternally;
And may they find their way Home to Heaven.

Amen.

- That's a blessing - it's benevolence, wishing another well. Light thoughts are more powerful than dark thoughts, so benevolence, correctly applied, will heal any situation!
